How the Final Exam Calculator Works
The formula is: Required Final Score = (Target − Current × (1 − Final Weight)) ÷ Final Weight
For example, if you have an 85% and the final is worth 25%, and you want a 90%:
Required = (90 − 85 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = (90 − 63.75) ÷ 0.25 = 105%
If the required score exceeds 100%, getting that grade may be impossible unless extra credit is available.
