1. Information We Collect

None. CalculateYourGPA.com is a client-side web application. All grade data, GPA calculations, and saved profiles are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. No personal information is transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

  • Local Storage: Your course data, GPA profiles, and preferences (theme, settings) are saved in your browser's local storage.
  • IndexedDB: Larger datasets may use IndexedDB, still entirely within your browser.
  • No Cloud Sync: Data does not sync across devices. Clearing browser data removes all saved information.

3. Cookies

We use only essential first-party cookies for theme preference. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party cookies of any kind by default.

If advertising is enabled, third-party ad networks may set cookies subject to their own privacy policies and consent requirements.

4. Advertising

CalculateYourGPA.com may display advertisements to support free operation. Ads are:

  • Loaded only with user consent (consent-gated)
  • Designed to avoid layout shift (CLS-safe with reserved placeholders)
  • Subject to the ad network's own privacy policies

You can use the site fully without accepting ad cookies. Calculations are never affected by ad presence.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

CalculateYourGPA.com does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data, there is no personal information to protect. Our tools can be used by students of all ages.

We do not require or request names, email addresses, birth dates, or any other identifying information.

6. FERPA Considerations

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) protects student education records maintained by schools. Since CalculateYourGPA.com:

  • Does not access any school systems or records
  • Does not store data on any server
  • Relies solely on user-entered data in the browser

No FERPA-protected records are accessed, processed, or stored by our service.

7. Data Export and Deletion

  • Export: You can export your data at any time using our export feature (PDF, PNG, JSON, CSV).
  • Deletion: Clear your browser's local storage and site data to remove all saved information. We have no data to delete on our end.

8. Third-Party Services

  • Google Fonts: We load the Inter font from Google Fonts. Google's privacy policy applies to font file serving.
  • Advertising Networks: If ads are enabled with your consent, the ad provider's privacy policy applies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
